Can you ever know everything?

Date: 24-11-2024 at 14:12

Let me ask you a question: Can you ever know everything? You can take time to think, I have answered this at the end of this mini-essay.

I come from a place where the sole purpose of education is to get a job (government or private). So, I have been taught from day 0 that you will never know everything - that same I was taught in my School, Engineering, and the rest of my life.

I had felt sad thinking that I will never know everything, it didn’t make sense considering I desired to know everything. But our mindset is the product of the input feed by different sources, therefore, I accepted that I will never know everything.

But then I read “The Fabric of Reality” by David Deutsch”, and, first time in my life, I realised I could know everything.

I will write my own version of what David expressed in his book: If you know the fundamental reality that has the better explanation and has universality, there are chances to know everything.

Reading this felt so good, therefore, I built a mental model: look for the fundamentals and match those with your current mental notions. This week, we also discovered the two fundamentals of healthcare that have universal reach.

  1. The Out-patient Department (OPD) is a hyperlocal

  2. The In-patient Department (IPD) has no boundary

By looking at these, it looks like few words but contains every aspect of healthcare similar to knowing that Gravity is not a force but a manifestation of mass and space and time.

We are building “The World’s Biggest Healthcare Company from India” and we have to uncover(discover) the fundamentals of Healthcare - at present, it seems, the industry lacks that insight otherwise, we already had a healthcare company with a global impact.

What did I do this week? [18-11-2024 at 23-11-2023]

I started asking simple questions at the end of the week - What did I do this week? I am also thinking of adding this to my calendar, permanently. This week was eventful:

  • We signed a large hospital with 450+ beds and they are also in the process of starting their Medical College and Hospital. You can read more: here

  • We had a super eventful meeting with another large hospital with multiple outlets, and we will sign the MOU on Tuesday and Thursday.

  • We completed the processes that will make the user's (patients) experience seamless: today this is broken.

tbh, when you are a pre-PMF startup in the space for almost 2 years, having a week with a tangible outcome feels like a win (lol).
